Juha Helppi Wins Event #17 ($85,120)

Juha moves all-in on a flop of T 8 3

and is called by Rene. Juha shows 8 5 and Rene shows 8 6. The turn comes with a 6 and the river is the 4 giving Juha the pot and the win.

Juha takes home $85,120 and a gold bracelet for his first place finish in this $5,000 No Limit Hold 'Em event.

Rene finishes in a respectable 2nd place and receives $47,290 in prize money.

Juha Wins Big Pot

On a board of J Q 9 9 Q, Rene bets out $40,000 into a $70,000 pot. Juha goes into the tank for a few minutes before moving all-in.  Rene mucks his hand and Juha takes down the pot and now holds a 2-1 chip advantage over Rene.

Slow Grind

Juha Helppi is slowly grinding away at Rene Angelil. Rene has been knocked down to about $110,000 in chips.

Vadim Trincher Eliminated In 3rd Place ($28,375)

Vadim Trincher raised to $10,000 from the button. Rene Angelil pondered for a bit before making it $30,000 to go. Vadim then moved all-in and Rene quickly called. Vadim showed J J but was way behind the A A of Rene.  The board of K 8 9 3 Q was no help to Vadim and Rene took down the pot.

Small Pot

We saw a glimpse of action on the last hand. Vadim made it $6,500 to go from the small blind and Juha made the call from the big blind. The flop came down Q 8 2 and Vadim bet out $9,100. Juha made it $25,000 total and Vadim folded.

The blinds have gone up and are now $1,500-$3,000 with a $500 ante. The rising blinds should start to induce some action.

Slow Down

Since we got down to three handed play, action has slowed considerably.  We have only seen a few flops and have not had a showdown yet.

Rene Angelil is still chip leader, although Juha Helppi has been slowly chipping up and is starting to gain on him.
