Rafi "Refael" Amit Wins Event #35 ($10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha)

After a flop of Js-7d-2s, Vinny Vinh bets $82,000, Rafi Amit raises, and Vinh pushes all in. Vinh shows Kd-Ks-5h-2h (pair of kings), but Amit has Jd-10h-7h-6s (two pair, jacks and sevens), and Vinh will need to improve to stay alive. The turn card is the Jc, giving Amit a full house (jacks full of sevens), and Vinh is down to two outs, needing to catch a king to make a higher full house. The river card is the 8d, and Vinny Vinh is eliminated in second place, earning $282,280.

Chatter Returns

They may have gotten bored with the silence, and with the lack of big pots. Rafi Amit and Vinny Vinh have resumed their antagonistic chatter.

In a side note, the crowd was practically non-existent for the first two hours of heads-up play. But once the fireworks (not the ones outside) started flying during the ten-minute penalty, a large crowd gathered, and they seem willing to stay until the bitter end.

The chatter continues ...

Play Has Settled Down

Apparently, the adrenaline from the earlier situation has subsided a bit, and both players have tightened up a bit, playing for small pots. There is also less chatter between them. Vinny Vinh has about $400,000 in chips, while Rafi Amit has about $1,250,000.

Updated Chip Counts

Assistant Tournament Director Jack Effel announces the following chip counts:

Rafi Amit - $1,350,000
Vinny Vinh - $300,000

Vinny Vinh Raises Rafi Amit Out of a Pot

After a flop of Kc-5d-2s, Vinny Vinh bets the pot, which is $96,000, nearly putting himself all in. Rafi talks to Vinh a bit, asking him if he has a real hand or not. He eventually decides that Vinh has the goods, tells him this, and folds his cards.

Rafi Amit Takes a Pot From Vinny Vinh

With over $100,000 in the pot, Rafi Amit shows a full house (threes full of queens) to win the pot.

An All-In ... Chopped

There is about $115,000 in the pot before a flop of 6c-5h-2h, and both players check. The turn card is the Js, Vinny Vinh bets $65,000, Rafi Amit raises to $285,000, and Vinh goes all in. Amit shows Qs-9d-4s-3s (six-high straight), and Vinh has Ks-6h-4h-3d (six-high straight, heart flush draw). Both players have identical hands at the moment, but Vinh is freerolling on his flush draw. The river card is the Kc, and the pot is chopped between them.

A Lot of Chatter at the Table

There is a lot of chatter at the final table between these two combatants. It's not overtly angry, but the undertones are clearly evident between these two who are antagonizing each other in a way that seems, on the surface, almost friendly.

Rafi Amit Is All Fired Up

Fired up after his ten-minute penalty, Rafi Amit has apparently decided that all the limping, checking, and folding is a thing of the past. Expect more aggressive play from this point on.

With the board showing Ad-7c-3s-8c on the turn, Amit checks, Vinh bets $60,000, Amit reraises to $264,000, and Vinh thinks for a long time before folding.
