Updates on Final Day (Jul 05, 05)

Jon Heneghan takes down $611,015 and a WSOP bracelet

Jon Heneghan said he made one rebuy. Heneghan turned that one rebuy into $611,015 and a gold bracelet. Not a bad parlay for the winner and champion Jon Heneghan.

Ring The Bell

It's all over. After a flop of Kc-Jd-4d, Paul Deng moved all in. After a moment of thinking Jon Heneghan called. Heneghan flipped over J-10, and Deng held 10d-5d for a flush draw. Deng needed a diamond, but the turn was the 8c, and the river was 7s. Paul Deng was eliminated in 2nd place and earns $324,305.

Paul Deng On Fire

Paul Deng is having some fun. Deng is playing very aggressive and talking up a storm. Deng keeps saying, "It is the crown [Royal], not me." Perhaps the Crown has made him play this aggressive, either way Deng has taken the chip lead.

Chip Lead Gone

Jon Heneghan's chip lead is gone. Paul Deng's aggressive play has basically evened out this duel. It is anyone's game now.

Deng Getting Closer

So far Paul Deng has been the aggressor. Deng has been raising and betting into almost every pot. In the last hand Deng made two pair and picked up around $300,000 extra. Can Deng turn this around? It seems possible at this point.

Chip Update

1. Paul Deng - $655,000
2. Jon Heneghan - $1,700,000

Robert Aron Eliminated in 3rd Place ($188,000)

Robert Aron moved all in with Ah-5h, and was called by Jon Heneghan. Heneghan flipped over A-8 and was dominating Aron. The flop came K-9-3, and Aron needed help. The turn was a 6, and the river was a 10. Aron did not get any help and was eliminated in 3rd place earning $188,000.

Gary Do Eliminated in 4th Place ($164,500)

Gary Do was all in with K-J against Paul Deng's Q-Q. The flop came A-6-2, and Do needed a K to stay alive. No K came and Do was eliminated in 4th place and earns $164,500.

Blinds Increase

The blinds have increased to $10,000-$20,000, and the ante is now $3,000.

Chip Update

1. Paul Deng - $340,000
2. Jon Heneghan - $1,460,000
3. Gary Do - $270,000
4. Robert Aron - $390,000
