Andy SethA total of 477 players survived the first day of play at the PokerStars North American Poker Tour at the Venetian, and after time expired on the second day, the field sat at 150, just three tables from the money.

The chip leader entering the day was Andy “BKiCe” Seth (pictured right), and though he struggled a bit to start the day, he quickly rebounded when his big slick cracked his opponent’s pocket aces. After a few more big pots went his way, Seth ended the day in second place with 602,600.

Team PokerStars Pro member Daniel Negreanu struggled to find any momentum on day two but received a fortunate double-up to stay in contention. Negreanu moved all in for his last 22,200 in early position and, after a bit of thought, his opponent made the call from the big blind, tabling pocket eights.

Negreanu sheepishly turned over pocket sevens, but got a huge flop in the form of JClub Suit 7Club Suit 7Heart Suit. His opponent couldn’t hit the miracle, and Negreanu doubled up to nearly 50,000 in chips. Despite this good fortune, he failed to survive the final level of the night and finished a few tables off the money bubble.

Steve BillirakisOther Team PokerStars Pro members still in the field include Tom McEvoy (62,500), Vanessa Rousso (313,600), Bill Chen (304,200), and Greg Raymer (242,200).

The biggest pot of the night came at the expense of two-time Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza winner Lars Bonding, when he was all in holding pocket kings against Andrew “LuckyChewy” Lichtenberger and his pocket aces. The aces held, and Lichtenberger stormed up the leader board. He finished the night with the chip lead and a stack of 618,200. Steve “MrSmokey1” Billirakis (pictured left) rounded out the top three with 591,200.
