All Inbox with Amit Makhija

In Card Player TV’s show All Inbox, fans can get advice from the world’s most successful poker pros by sending their questions to [email protected]. In this edition, Amit Makhija answers a question regarding his teammates in the DoylesRoom “Brunson 10.”

Eric A., Cleveland, Ohio: Of the six picked so far, who do you think is the best online-tournament player of the “Brunson 10”?

Amit MakhijaAmit Makhija: Normally, I would be diplomatic and not answer that question quickly, but I think that it is clearly Steve Gross. His results over the past five years in online tournaments are just phenomenal. No one can match them. Even when he doesn’t have big scores, he’ll ship like $100,000 in a week. What he has done is just unbelievable. He is the clear pick, but everyone is great at them. The Brunson 10 is a very strong group of online-tournament players. Chris “moorman1” Moorman is great, Alex “AJKHoosier” Kamberis has done so much, Zach “CrazyZachary” Clark has a lot of scores, and Dani [Stern] plays more cash games. It’s a good group, but as far as the online tournaments go, Steve is the cream of that crop.

Julio Rodriguez: You are obviously excluding yourself, the Full Tilt Online Poker Series winner.

AM: My results are good, and I have some big scores, but I don’t play enough to have anywhere near the results that Steve has in online tournaments. He’s phenomenal. Spade Suit

All Inbox with Anette Obrestad

In Card Player TV’s show All Inbox, fans can get advice from the world’s most successful poker pros by sending their questions to [email protected]. In this edition, a fan got his questions answered by Annette Obrestad.

Question: Since you have been playing professionally from such a young age, do you see yourself losing passion for the game anytime soon?

Annette ObrestadAnnette Obrestad: Absolutely not. I have been talking to so many people who have said, “I am so sick of poker; I hate doing this. I can’t believe I quit school to do this.” They don’t want to play professionally anymore. I’m like, “I love it more every day.” I just want to play poker for the rest of my life. At least that’s how I feel now. I don’t know if that’s going to change in the next 10 years, but I truly hope that I can be this passionate about the game for as long as I play.

Q: So, as far as you can see, you are going to be playing poker for a while?

AO: Yes, definitely. I have a lot of goals that I want to get accomplished.

Q: What are some of those goals?

AO: Well, I want to be the highest-earning female player of all time, sooner or later. That’s one of my goals, at least. Spade Suit
