Linda JohnsonI love the holidays! It’s a great time to enjoy being with friends, family, and to celebrate how great our lives truly are.

I had a total knee replacement recently. The recovery has been fairly easy, but I’ve been grounded at home since the surgery, the longest consecutive time I have spent at home since I moved to Las Vegas in 1980. I’m actually starting to like it! In fact, one of my New Year’s resolutions will be to slow down and take more time to smell the roses. This translates into spending less time working and more time playing! I hope you do too.

To accomplish this goal, one must decide what one’s passions are in life; mine are poker and traveling. As a partner in Card Player Cruises, I have the ideal job to fulfill both of these interests. If you are looking for the perfect holiday gift for that hard-to buy-for special person in your life…something that you also will enjoy…something that he or she will thank you for forever… you definitely should consider a poker cruise vacation.

Card Player Cruises has teamed up with Card Player magazine to host one of the 2013 events on the Card Player Poker Tour aboard Royal Caribbean’s magnificent Oasis of the Seas, April 13-20. The cruise will sail roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise to Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Cozumel, Mexico. It will feature an $1,100 main event that will be filmed for online broadcast, as well as single-table satellites, lower buy-in tournaments, and a wide variety of cash games.

If you are concerned that your traveling companion will spend too much time in the cardroom, you need not fear. The poker room closes for dinner and while in port, and passengers can play as much or as little poker as they desire. When you aren’t playing poker, there are numerous activities available for passengers’ amusement such as a Broadway theater, miniature golf, rock climbing wall, carousel, fitness center, Surfrider, comedy club, jazz club, water theater with high-dive and synchronized swim shows, trivia, skating rink, sports courts, duty-free shops, and 24 eating venues.

Prices for this special cruise start at $979 per person, however this price is only available until the end of 2012. In January, 2013, the fare will increase substantially, so call the Card Player Cruises office today at 888-999-4880 for best pricing and availability.

If you are unable to sail on the April trip, Card Player Cruises has seven other poker cruises available in 2013. Destinations include the Caribbean, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific, Panama Canal, and Mexico. Card Player Cruises is hosting a televised Heartland Poker Tour event on its January 19, 2013 poker cruise.

Many perks exist for Card Player Cruises’ passengers including private cocktail parties, welcome-aboard gifts, exclusive excursions, and roommate finding services. For the absolute beginner, complimentary poker lessons are provided, followed by a $20 buy-in game only open to players who took the lessons. Additionally, seminars for the intermediate and more advanced players are offered during the week.

Card Player Cruises is well known as being the world’s longest established poker cruise company and for having the most and the best poker action at sea. Discounts are available for booking three or more cabins which is why Card Player Cruises is a great choice for weddings, family reunions, frat parties, girlfriends’ getaways, anniversaries, bachelor parties, birthday parties, and other special occasions. Our staff can book any cruise for you, not just a poker cruise.

Poker cruises are very reasonably priced; in fact, a poker cruise is much less expensive than traveling to a destination resort! For more information, please visit www.cardplayercruises.com.

Enjoy the holidays. Take time to stop and smell the roses. Be sure to live life to the fullest and spend time with the people you love.
Now, let’s play poker! ♠
