The top 10 of Card Player’s all-time tournament money list has seen its fair share of movement in the last year.
Justin Bonomo regained the top spot, thanks in large part to a number of massive scores in the final months of last year. The 36-year-old poker pro earned just shy of $1.9 million as the runner-up in the 2021 Super High Roller Bowl. Less than a month later he finished second in a $50,000 World Series of Poker no-limit hold’em event for another $700,228. He notched another huge win in December, taking down a $100,000 buy-in event at the Bellagio’s Five Diamond World Poker Classic series for $928,200. Bonomo now sits just shy of $59.2 million in earnings.
Bryn Kenney lost his hold on the top spot despite cashing for over $800,000 since our last update on this leaderboard. The New Yorker holds the record for the largest single tournament score in poker history. The 35-year-old secured $20,606,421 in a heads-up deal in the 2019 £1,050,00 buy-in Triton Million charity invitational no-limit hold’em event. He most recently made a final table at the PokerGO Cup in February.
Six-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu joined Kenney and Bonomo as just the third player to ever surpass $45 million in earnings thanks to his recent win in a Wynn Millions $15,000 buy-in high roller event. The $216,000 score gave the 47-year-old more than a $3.7 million lead over the nearest competitor, David Peters with $41,385,778.
Peters, however, has seen the biggest climb up the list, moving from sixth to fourth with more than $2 million in earnings over the last six months alone. The Ohio native took second in an October $200,000 high roller for $1,387,200 and then runner-up at the PokerGO Stairway To Millions $100,000 event in January for another $570,000. ♠
