Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville Stop This Fall To Be ‘Biggest Yet’

This fall the Card Player Poker Tour will return to bestbet Jacksonville, home of the largest poker room in Florida, for a 16-event tournament series running from Oct. 27 – Nov. 14. This marks the ninth time that the CPPT has teamed up with the North Florida poker mainstay.

“This will definitely be our biggest Card Player Poker Tour event. It will have the largest main event buy-in yet, and it also has a mystery bounty tournament and a big opening event,” said bestbet Executive Director of Poker Operations Jesse Hollander. “I believe this is going to be the largest CPPT event yet, and we are excited to welcome the tour back to Jacksonville.”

The series begins with a $400 buy-in no-limit hold’em kickoff event that will run from Oct. 27-30, with six starting flights available to choose from and the final table streamed on bestbetLIVE, the card room’s popular YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook Live channel that hosts tournament and cash game action.

This will be the first of three big weekend tournaments spread throughout the series. The second will be a $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘mystery bounty’ event that runs from Nov. 3-6, featuring bounty payouts ranging from $500 up to $50,000. The venue hosted this red-hot new tournament format earlier this year, with the event being a well-received success.

“It went great and was a lot of fun,” said Hollander. “There was a lot of camaraderie amongst the players, with everybody sweating each other’s envelope draw to see how much they would win. The biggest prize was $50,000. We live streamed a feature and final table on day two of the mystery bounty event, and we were able to cut away and live stream everybody pulling their bounty prizes. It created a very fun, party-like atmosphere. It was a great time and we can’t wait to do it again.”

This year, the mystery bounty and the $320 no-limit hold’em ladies event will have both feature and final table live stream coverage, while the final tables of both the kickoff event and the main event will be broadcast on bestbetLIVE.

As Hollander mentioned, the price of poker is going up, as the buy-in for this year’s CPPT bestbet Jacksonville main event has been increased to $3,000. Prior to this, the largest buy-in to enter was $2,500 last year.

This year’s CPPT main event will run from Nov. 11-14, the final weekend of the festival. There are two starting flights offered, starting at noon on Friday and Saturday. Players will start with 40,000 in chips and enjoy 60-minute blind levels to start.

Like every tournament on the schedule for this series, the main event will feature unlimited re-entries during the registration period. Registration for the tournament will remain open until the start of level 9.

The most recent CPPT bestbet Jacksonville main event took place in June of 2021. The $2,500 buy-in tournament attracted 339 total entries, building a prize pool of $759,360.

In the end it was 25-year-old hometown hero Ben Scrogins who emerged victorious, taking home $158,915 as the champion after defeating World Series of Poker bracelet winner and eight-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Kyle Cartwright heads-up for the title.

With this buy-in being higher than all previous CPPT main events at the venue, Hollander made sure to note that there will be plenty of ways for players to win their way into the main event and other marquee tournaments throughout the series via satellite.

“There will be tons of opportunities to win your way into the big events,” said Hollander. “We also have some package-guarantee satellites where we’re giving away packages to the opening event, plus the mystery bounty and the CPPT main event with each package worth $5,100 in buy-ins. The satellite schedule is very robust.”

Outside of the three big weekend events and the ladies tournament, the 2022 CPPT bestbet Jacksonville series will feature plenty of other exciting options, including a $360 bounty event, a $260 H.E.R.O.S. tournament (the new preferred order of the mixed-game standard formerly known as H.O.R.S.E.), a $500 pot-limit Omaha event, and a $1,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em six-max event.
