CoinPoker – Best Site For Rakeback

Rakeback will be a key part of your success when playing online poker. Your weekly or monthly rebate can be the difference between a break-even player and long-term winner.

The 33% rakeback offered by CoinPoker is bigger than any other online poker sites in the Centennial State.

Ignition – Best Site For Soft Hold’em Tables

Because Ignition is primarily a safe online casino, there’s a plentiful supply of casual players that drift over to the poker tables.

As a result, you’ll find the standard of play is much lower than many other sites providing online poker in Colorado.

ACR Poker – Best Site For Huge Guarantees

There’s no better place if you’re looking for tournaments with massive prize pools than ACR Poker. The Venom, which had a $12.5 million guarantee in April 2024, is the best example. But there are plenty more.

The Venom is exclusive to WPN sites and ACR Poker is that network’s flagship brand.

Black Chip Poker – Best Site For Seven-Card Stud

The popularity of Seven-Card Stud is waning, but Black Chip Poker still has a sizable community of players at its busy tables. You can’t say that about most online poker sites in CO.

There’s a wide variety of betting limits to choose from, too. What’s more, you’ll even find Eight-Or-Better tables.

BetOnline – Best Site For Sports Fans New to Poker

One of the USA’s best sportsbooks, you’ll struggle to find better odds on domestic and international sporting events. However, BetOnline is also one of the best places to enjoy online poker in Colorado – especially at lower stakes.

There’s an abundance of small buy-in and freeroll tournaments to enjoy, plus busy micro-stakes cash games.

Bovada – Best Site For Instant Play

Mobile poker apps aren’t for everyone. Not only do they consume valuable space on your device, but some require constant updates that take ages to install.

That’s not a problem at Bovada. Simply log into your account via a mobile browser and play instantly, with no need to ever download any software.

Reviews of the Best Online Poker Sites in Colorado

Let’s now take a more detailed look at each of the best Colorado poker sites, as recommended by our expert team.

1. CoinPoker – Top Colorado Crypto Site With Incredible 33% Rakeback

  • Poker Network: Proprietary
  • License: Curaçao
  • Payments Accepted: BTC, USDT, ETH, BNB, POL, CHP

CoinPoker is the best place to play online poker in Colorado, hands down.

Aside from the ultra-modern design of the lightweight mobile app and desktop client, the rake at CoinPoker is some of the lowest in the country.

If that weren’t enough, all players can secure 33% rakeback just by using the site’s own crypto token, Chips (CHP).

Like many offshore poker sites, CoinPoker is one of the many Bitcoin poker sites on the market, though you can make deposits and withdrawals using many different cryptocurrencies.

CoinPoker Rating: 9.6/10

  • Poker Games Variety 9/10 – CoinPoker offers a diverse range of betting limits for Hold’em and Omaha cash tables, plus 5-Card Omaha. There’s no Seven-Card Stud or Draw yet, but the rake is lower than any other online poker room in CO.
  • Poker Tournaments 9/10 – The site also boasts some of the lowest tournament entry fees. Events run around the clock, with buy-ins to suit all bankrolls. Regulars will undoubtedly appreciate the regular six and seven-figure guaranteed events.
  • Traffic and Player Base 9/10 – CoinPoker is busy throughout the day, though the standard is a little tougher than other online poker rooms. Low-stakes cash tables are busiest, but the site hosts regular high-stakes PLO too, with plenty of top pros involved.
  • Software Quality 10/10 – The desktop client and mobile app both feature a cool and modern look-and-feel. They are lightweight, quick to install, and very user-friendly. Plus, they don’t need to be updated every five minutes.
  • Mobile Friendliness 10/10 – CoinPoker’s mobile app feels decidedly uncluttered and crisp. It’s easy to navigate and find a table, thanks to a bunch of intuitive filters and features.
  • Bonuses 10/10 – The welcome offer isn’t the industry’s biggest, but it’s pretty close. You’re also not going to find a better rakeback arrangement at any other site. Everyone stands to gain 33%, regardless of how long you’ve been registered.
  • Freerolls 10/10 – There are multiple $100 freerolls every single day, not to mention regular free-to-enter satellites to the site’s Sunday Specials and other big events.
  • Get 33% online poker rakeback every Monday
  • Fully anonymous, instant withdrawal crypto poker
  • Free from deposit and withdrawal fees if you use crypto

2. Ignition – Busy Colorado Online Poker Site With Soft Cash Games

  • Poker Network: PaiWangLuo
  • License: Curaçao
  • Payments Accepted: BTC, USDT, ETH, LTC, BCH, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Voucher

You may know Ignition as a casino, but it’s also one of the best sites to play online poker for real money in CO.

The ratio of casino players to poker regulars is helpful, as it really brings the standard down. As a result, you’ll always find low-stakes Hold’em tables that are both busy and beatable.

With the Instant Play option, you can dive right in, download-free. But the software is well-designed and easy to use, should you wish.

Ignition Poker Rating: 9.3/10

  • Poker Games Variety 9/10 – Although you can’t play Seven-Card Stud here, the most important boxes are checked. Enjoy Hold’em, Omaha, and Omaha Hi-Lo cash games, for instance, with a broad selection of table limits available.
  • Poker Tournaments 9/10 – Ideal for smaller-stakes players, with the majority of tournaments priced lower than $300. Look out for innovative formats like Jackpot SNGs, as well as the $200K Guarantee on Sundays.
  • Traffic and Player Base 10/10 – Plenty of traffic for most of the day, especially at the low-stakes Hold’em cash tables. These are topped up by casino players heading over to splash around, making for very soft games.
  • Software Quality 9/10 – There are definitely nicer looking desktop poker clients out there. But we always favor substance over style, and this works extremely well. That’s mostly down to the classic layout and intuitive features.
  • Mobile Friendliness 10/10 – Although the mobile site takes a somewhat minimalist approach, it’s pretty functional and very user-friendly. There’s also the option to play in a browser, with no need to install bulky software.
  • Bonuses 9/10 – The $3,000 Ignition bonus is split equally between the casino and poker room. But the latter portion is still among the top welcome offers in the country. There’s no direct rakeback here, but you can earn Ignition Rewards points instead.
  • Freerolls 9/10 – Enjoy regular freerolls, including special Thursday events featuring $2,500 prize pools. Tickets to these – earned via the Ignition Rewards program – are provided on Fridays, allowing you ample time to prepare.
  • $2 million in weekly poker tournament guarantees
  • Zone Poker and anonymous tables for casual play
  • Mobile poker client with up to four tables at one time

5 Stars

3. ACR Poker – No CO Poker Site offers Bigger Guarantees

  • Poker Network: Winning Poker Network
  • License: Curaçao
  • Payments Accepted: BTC, LTC, ETH, USDT, P2P, MoneyGram

ACR Poker is a highly reputable brand that’s been around since 2001. However, there’s nothing old-fashioned about it.

The site is packed with a number of innovative tournament formats, with everything from PKOs to Mystery Bounty events. Not to mention one of the sharpest-looking mobile poker apps in the country.

It’s also home to the Venom, a tournament known for its record-breaking prize pools. In 2024, the guarantee was an incredible $12.5 million and brought in just over $12.6 million.

If that weren’t enough, you can have even more access to these huge prize pools as ACR Poker offers some of the best poker bonuses anywhere.

ACR Poker Rating: 9.6/10

  • Poker Games Variety 10/10 – ACR Poker offers more ways to play online poker for real money than most sites. Try Seven-Card Stud, Eight-Or-Better, and 5-Card Omaha cash tables, along with the usual suspects.
  • Poker Tournaments 10/10 – Aside from the $12.5 million Venom, you’ll find many other multi-million dollar guarantees, including the $2 million Venom PLO. Watch out for the regular Online Super Series and weekly $200,000 Sunday Special too.
  • Traffic and Player Base 9/10 – This is the flagship brand of WPN (Winning Poker Network) which is one of the busier networks. As such, you’ll never be short of opponents at the cash tables, though players here are better than average,
  • Software Quality 9/10 – Desktop players will be impressed by the look-and-feel of the client, as well as its user-friendliness. It’s also one of the few poker sites that allows certain third-party tools.
  • Mobile Friendliness 9/10 – The Android mobile app is undoubtedly one of the best looking, but it’s packed with features too. As great as the native app is, there’s no iOS equivalent for now.
  • Bonuses 9/10 – You won’t find a bigger welcome bonus at any online poker site in Colorado or beyond. In addition, you’ll automatically be enrolled into the valuable Elite Benefits rewards program. You may also choose to opt out and accept a flat 27% rakeback instead.
  • Freerolls 9/10 – There aren’t many sites better than ACR Poker when it comes to freerolls. On weekdays, you’ll find up to 12 different free-to-enter tournaments on the schedule. However, the prize pools are usually small, worth around $50 each.
  • Massive daily tournament schedule
  • Great deposit methods with local options
  • Fast payouts within the hour

4. Black Chip Poker – Top Choice For Seven-Card Stud Poker Online

  • Poker Network: Winning Poker Network
  • License: Curaçao
  • Payments Accepted: BTC, LTC, ETH, USDT, P2P, MoneyGram

As part of the Winning Poker Network, the Black Chip Poker cash tables are usually pretty full, regardless of your chosen game.

Black Chip Poker is among the best poker sites for Seven-Card Stud lovers. It’s one of the few remaining sites to run Seven-Card Stud cash games and there’s a wide range of stakes available.

Kick things off with the industry’s leading welcome bonus, then secure a competitive 27% rakeback arrangement.

Black Chip Poker Rating: 9.1/10

  • Poker Games Variety 10/10 – Black Chip Poker is a Seven-Card Stud lover’s paradise. Mid to low-stakes cash tables are in good supply, but it’s also possible to play Stud Eight-Or-Better. Naturally, there’s lots of Hold’em and Omaha action too.
  • Poker Tournaments 10/10 – Enter some of poker’s biggest online tournaments, with seven and eight-figure guaranteed prize pools. Look out for fun formats like Mystery Bounties, PKOs, and Jackpot SNGs.
  • Traffic and Player Base 9/10 – Another busy WPN site, Black Chip Poker sees plenty of cash game traffic. The weekly Sunday tournaments and big-name events like the Venom also draw sizable fields. Don’t expect soft games, though.
  • Software Quality 9/10 – The desktop software is everything you’d want to see from a poker client and the mobile app is visually stunning. Loses a point due to the frequency of updates, however, as this can be very annoying.
  • Mobile Friendliness 9/10 – A quality Android mobile app that’s easy to use and is right up there with CoinPoker as one of the best. Unfortunately, Apple users are still waiting for an iOS version.
  • Bonuses 9/10 – We’re yet to see a bigger signup bonus from an online poker room in Colorado. The loyalty program is great for the average Joe, though regulars may wish to opt out. Doing so enables you to take a flat 27% rakeback instead.
  • Freerolls 8/10 – During the week, there will be as many as ten freerolls on any given day. That’s a great way for newcomers to practice their skills. However, don’t expect to see prize pools over $50 too often.
  • Play fantasy poker league Monte Carlo
  • Offers sportsbetting and casino while playing poker
  • Accepts crypto payments since 2015

5. BetOnline – Quality Sportsbook With Soft Hold’em Tables

  • Poker Network: Chico Poker
  • License: Panama Gaming Commission
  • Payments Accepted: BTC, ETH, USDT, LTC, BCH, DOGE, 10x more crypto coins, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express

Don’t be fooled by the name – yes it’s a great sportsbook, but this reputable gambling site also hosts an excellent poker room.

Like many offshore poker sites, BetOnline accepts players from the US – including Colorado – whether you’re playing on a desktop or mobile.

Use the highly functional software, or go download-free with the convenient Instant Play mode. Either way, the cash games are very soft here.

BetOnline Poker Rating: 9.1/1

  • Poker Games Variety 9/10 – Don’t expect to see the niche poker variants, like draw or stud. But when it comes to busy Hold’em, Omaha, and Omaha Hi-Lo tables, BetOnline is an excellent choice.
  • Poker Tournaments 9/10 – Expect millions of dollars worth of tournament guarantees each month, including the $100,000 Sunday Showdown. BetOnline is a great option for low-stakes players, too, and few buy-ins surpass $300.
  • Traffic and Player Base 10/10 – As part of the busy Chico Poker network, you’ll always find plenty of people looking to play poker online in Colorado. Bonus points for the relatively weak and beatable cash games, due to all of the sports bettors.
  • Software Quality 9/10 – The software looks pretty basic, but it’s definitely not missing any key features. Instant Play is a big advantage, too. This means you can play in a browser and skip the bulky, time-consuming downloads.
  • Mobile Friendliness 10/10 – There’s no native Android or iOS app here, but it’s still very easy to play on mobile. Use the lightweight web app, or play instantly in your browser. Both options are well-designed and highly intuitive.
  • Bonuses 9/10 – The welcome offer is solid at BetOnline. There are no reload bonuses, as marketing efforts tend to be focused on the sportsbook and casino. However, there’s a decent loyalty program called RISE, offering up to 25% rakeback.
  • Freerolls 8/10 – There aren’t too many freerolls to get your teeth into at BetOnline, though new registrants do earn free tickets to special satellite events. You can find a few freerolls, but they usually require passwords.
  • Tourney series - Sunday Majors & Progressive Bounties
  • Modern client with 3D visuals, straddle, odds & features
  • New Bad Beat Jackpot 2.0 can exceed $30,000 online

Available Bonuses at Colorado Poker Sites

Online poker sites in Colorado feature plenty of bonuses, for both new and existing players.

Welcome Bonus

There’s always some kind of signup offer, as online poker is as competitive an industry in Colorado as anywhere else.

It usually takes the form of a deposit match, but some sites offer packages that also include other goodies.

Match Deposit Bonus

All of the best poker sites in CO offer deposit matches, either as a welcome offer, reload bonuses or both.

The size of your reward is linked to how much money you deposit. A 150% match on a $30 deposit, for instance, would result in a bonus of $45.

No Deposit Bonus

A chance to pick up something for nothing, no deposit bonuses are just what they sound like. Open an account to receive an automatic bonus, allowing you to play without funding your account.

It’s rare to find no deposit bonuses at online poker sites in Colorado – or indeed anywhere – nowadays.

Reload Bonus

A type of loyalty reward, reload bonuses are only for existing players.

They’re usually deposit matches, just with smaller percentages than welcome bonuses. Add funds to your account and receive a percentage bonus on top, generally around 50%.

Rakeback

Perhaps the most important bonus for online poker players in Colorado, rakeback is another type of loyalty reward.

The site refunds a percentage of the rake you paid during the specified promotional period, which is usually a week or a month. Get 33% rakeback at CoinPoker, for instance.

Tournament Tickets

Some sites give players free entries to tournaments that offer real money prizes. We’re not talking about freerolls, either – these are tournaments that others would have to pay to enter.

Take BetOnline, for instance. The welcome offer includes up to 21 free tickets to step satellites to a $109 buy-in event.

VIP Rewards

It’s rare to find an online poker site in the Centennial State that doesn’t offer a structured loyalty program these days.

The more you play, the more points you’ll accumulate. These help you climb the ladder, securing increasingly beneficial VIP perks and bonuses along the way.

Refer-a-Friend

Love playing at your favorite site? Want to get your buddies involved? Most online poker rooms will now reward you for doing exactly that.

Recruit friends and, when they join using your unique code, there’s a referral bonus in it for you.

Most Popular Online Poker Games

Wondering about the most popular ways to play online poker in Colorado? The following section of our guide answers that very question.

Texas Hold’em

The world’s most popular poker game, it makes sense that every site in Colorado offers Texas Hold’em. You’ll receive two private hole cards and as many as five shared “community” cards available. This creates plenty of opportunities to represent hands and trick opponents.

It’s possible to play Hold’em with a Fixed Limit, Pot Limit, or No Limit betting structure. Whichever way you play, the game offers a subtle blend of psychology, math, and hand-reading skills. Not to mention a ton of courage, especially when playing the latter, known as the “Cadillac of poker”.

Conservative players may prefer Fixed Limit games, while Pot Limit and No Limit Hold’em are better suited to a more courageous style.

Omaha

In this form of poker, players receive a four-card starting hand. Aside from that, Omaha Hold’em – simply referred to as “Omaha” these days – plays out pretty much exactly the same way as its Texan cousin.

Just like Hold’em, there are two forced bets pre-flop, with five community cards and four rounds of betting. The major difference is that players have to use exactly two of their four hole cards.

With so many extra cards in play compared to Hold’em, it’s a solid strategy to be a little more conservative in your starting hand selection. It’s also more important to stay in control of pots, as even monster hands are frequently outdrawn.

Seven-Card Stud

Unfortunately, it’s fair to say that Seven-Card Stud isn’t as popular as it used to be. This fascinating game used to be the most common way to play poker, until Hold’em blew up in the 1990s and 2000s.

There are no shared cards here, just like all forms of stud. Instead, you’ll receive up to seven cards unique to your own hand, three of which are turned face-down, with the other four revealed. Five betting rounds offer plenty of chances to build a pot and to represent hands.

Not many sites offering online poker in Colorado feature Seven-Card Stud games any more. But those which do usually have Fixed Limit tables.

2-7 Triple Draw

Draw poker games enable players to discard some of the cards in their hand. You then “draw” new ones from the deck, giving rise to the name. In this particular variant, you’ll have three chances to acquire new cards, with a betting round after each.

As a lowball game, the aim of 2-7 Triple Draw is to make the lowest-rated five-card poker hand, instead of the highest. So, you don’t want to see a royal flush here. Instead, the best possible hand is 75432.

Few online poker sites in the USA offer 2-7 Triple Draw nowadays, despite the game’s sharp increase in popularity during the mid-2000s.

Short Deck Poker (6+)

The high-stakes game of choice nowadays, especially in SE Asia, Short Deck is so-called since it uses just 36 cards. All cards ranked 2, 3, 4 and 5 are removed, leaving the deck “short” by 16 cards.

This unusual rule variation has a huge impact on how the game plays out. With so many cards missing, it’s much harder to make a flush, for example. As such, that particular hand leapfrogs a full house in the game’s poker hand rankings.

Short Deck Poker – sometimes called Short Deck Hold’em or Six Plus (6+) – was popularized by high stakes legends like Tom Dwan, Dan Cates, and Phil Ivey.

Supported Payment Methods at US Poker Sites

Whether you’re playing online poker in Colorado, California, or Connecticut, you’re going to need to deposit money. Here are the most common methods for moving cash in and out of your online poker accounts.

Online Bank Transfer

Traditional bank wires are often slow and expensive, with high minimum withdrawal requirements. But recent technological developments mean that some poker sites can now wrap up online bank transfers in less than 48 hours.

Debit and Credit Cards

It’s always reassuring to see the likes of Visa, Mastercard and American Express in the cashier. These reputable payment processors are reliable, secure, and convenient. Deposits are instant, though withdrawals may take up to a week to complete.

eWallets

Digital wallets like Neteller, Skrill, and PayPal have been around the online poker scene for over 20 years. They’re super convenient for storing your bankroll, while deposits are instant and secure. Be careful though, as some sites charge for eWallet transactions.

Cryptocurrencies

The best online poker sites in Colorado are actually based offshore. As such, they can legally accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Tether, and Ethereum. These are the best option, as withdrawals are usually completed far more quickly than other payment methods. Plus you have complete anonymity.

Prepaid Cards

Many sites now accept prepaid cards. These are ideal for gambling responsibly, as you can only spend up to the pre-loaded limit. Most are provided by reputable card processing firms, like Mastercard and Visa. But voucher services like Neosurf and Paysafe also offer prepaid cards.

Pros and Cons of Colorado Poker Sites

There are many upsides to playing online poker in Colorado. But, in the interests of balance, it’s our duty to highlight the potential downsides, too. Here are the headlines.

Pros

  • Many secure sites accept Colorado players
  • Licensed by major international regulators
  • Offshore poker sites offer bigger bonuses
  • Play tournaments with large guarantees
  • Wide variety of online poker variants
  • Cryptocurrency payouts in under a day

Cons

  • Colorado online poker isn’t regulated
  • Some offshore sites block US players
  • VPN usage not always allowed

How We Rate the Best Colorado Poker Sites

When seeking the best sites for online poker in Colorado, or indeed anywhere, we follow a strict process.

First of all, we aim to be completely impartial, reporting the facts rather than any sort of commercial bias. Should you encounter any sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled as such.

In addition, we stringently fact-check our sources with a team of researchers, who also regularly ensure that our copy is up to date. Everything you read comes from credible institutions and publications.

Finally, we listen to our readers. Please contact us or leave a comment if you spot anything untoward, and we’ll immediately take steps to rectify the problem.

User Experience at Colorado Poker Sites

The following section details the personal experience of our expert author when using the top sites for online poker in Colorado.

CoinPoker

As a cryptocurrency fan, CoinPoker is my favorite option. I appreciate the fast withdrawals more than anything, but the ability to bank 33% rakeback is crucial. It makes such a difference to your bottom line.

I really like the simplicity of both the app and desktop client, too. It’s easy to find whatever you need, they’re quick to install and they don’t demand updates every five minutes.

CoinPoker has really grown since its 2017 launch. Take the Crypto Series of Online Poker (CSOP) for instance, which now offers $3 million in guaranteed prize pools.

Ignition

This is a great choice when you want to dip in and out quickly, because of the Instant Play option. The option to just log in and take a seat immediately, with no downloads or updates, is super convenient.

Ignition is unusual in that it’s so deeply intertwined with the casino. Even the welcome bonus is split 50-50 between the casino and the poker room. However, if you’re also a fan of slots and table games, that’s a good thing, due to the Ignition Rewards scheme.

There’s no rakeback, but you can trade your loyalty points in for cash. If you’re also playing casino games, you’ll find yourself with a larger poker bankroll as a result.

ACR Poker

There’s something quite reassuring about ACR Poker. The brand has been around since 2001 and the roster of sponsored pros is quite notable. I think that’s probably a big part of the appeal if you’re a relative newcomer concerned about its legitimacy.

This is my favorite site for tournaments. I don’t just mean the obvious seasonal events with massive prize pools, like the Venom. But the everyday stuff – there are loads of Jackpot SNGs, PKOs, and rebuy events to get involved with.

The staking platform is a really interesting idea, too, and it’s been implemented really well.

Black Chip Poker

In terms of graphics, I think Black Chip Poker probably has the best app around. However, I’m an Android user, and there’s no Apple equivalent yet.

If you enjoy a bit of fast fold poker now and then, as I do, be sure to check out the “Blitz” lobby. It’s not great for Omaha, but the $0.10 / $0.25 Hold’em tables are always busy, regardless of the time of day.

I don’t know how many online poker players in Colorado are playing Seven-Card Stud these days. But I like to dip in now and then for a change of pace, and Black Chip Poker is one of the few remaining places you can do that.

BetOnline

This is by far the softest site I’ve used, most probably due to the number of sports bettors dabbling with poker. Low stakes Hold’em cash games are especially juicy.

On the flip side, I don’t like the RISE loyalty program, though it would be ideal for high rollers. You need $5,000 worth of monthly rake contributions to gain the maximum 25% rakeback. Most people will get 10% or 15% at best.

I love the Triple Threat tournaments, though. These are so-called because you can win a share of the prize pool, bounties, and at least $35,000 in mystery jackpots.

Best Online Poker Site in Colorado – Our Verdict

Our detailed guide to online poker in Colorado might feel like information overload, so here’s a brief recap of the key points.

  • Poker in Colorado is technically illegal – There is no existing Colorado online poker legislation in place. With no regulation, there are no state-licensed sites, therefore no places to play legally.
  • Offshore sites are still accessible – That said, it’s still possible to play at plenty of poker sites based overseas. Many residents use them without an issue. Our favorite is CoinPoker, with its 33% rakeback and sleek software.
  • There’s no sign of legislation just yet – Lawmakers have previously attempted to draft a legal framework for online poker in Colorado. However, we’re yet to see any real progress. That said, online sports betting laws passed in 2019, so there’s hope.

Expert Opinion

“If you’re looking to play poker in Colorado, you need to do so at an offshore poker site. Thanks to the fantastic cash games, the phenomenal Sunday specials, and the unmatched 33% rakeback, it’s a no-brainer for Colorado poker players to join CoinPoker.” – Blaise Bourgeois, Lead Poker Editor
