Paddy Power Poker's Chip Stack Breaks World RecordJust Ahead of Irish Winter Festival, Paddy Power Poker is Busy Breaking Records |
|
The Paddy Power Poker team has chipped their way into the Guinness Book of World Records by creating the world’s biggest poker chip stack.
The 3 metres tall and 50 centimetres wide chip stack comprises of 75,000 individual poker chips and took five people more than 72 hours to build.
The team managed to build the record-breaking stack just in time for the Irish Winter Festival which begins today and runs until Monday, Oct. 25 at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, Ireland. The €1,650 buy-in main event, the Irish Masters, begins tomorrow.
There are plenty of reasons other than the record-breaking chip stack and all the poker action to get down to the Burlington Hotel this weekend.
Tonight, and tomorrow, from 9 to 11 p.m. in the Burlington’s Bellini Bar, guests at the PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Winter Festival will be able to challenge World Champions Dennis Taylor (snooker) and Eric Bristow (darts) at their respective sports. However, there is an exciting twist to make things a little more in favour of those brave enough to take them on – Bristow will be aiming for a revolving dartboard while Taylor will have his snooker cue replaced with a broom handle.
Live bands such as “The Whisht” and “Superfly” will be entertaining guests nightly, and there will also be Shane Gillen the magician, an artist armed with scissors who cuts portrait silhouettes from paper in seconds, and plenty of drinks promotions.
