Mediterranean Poker Cup Begins Today

Mediterranean Poker Cup Kicks Off Today in Cyprus; Festival Features €2,500 Main Event with a €400,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool

Hot ChocolateThe Mediterranean Poker Cup begins in Cyprus today and will run until Nov. 28.

The festival features a three-day $2,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event starting on Nov. 26, with a guaranteed prize pool of $400,000. Until then, there are many side events and satellites taking place.

The complete tournament schedule for the festival is:

Nov. 22 @ 9 p.m. $330 super satellite 5,000 starting stack, 25 min. levels
Nov. 23 @ 4 p.m. $1,100 no-limit hold’em 12,000 starting stack, 40 min. levels
Nov. 23 @ 9 p.m. $220 super satellite (rebuy) 2,000 starting stack, 25 min. levels
Nov. 24 @ 4 p.m. $550 six-max freezeout 10,000 starting stack, 30 min. levels
Nov. 24 @ 9 p.m. $550 super satellite 10,000 starting stack, 25 min. levels
Nov. 25 @ 4 p.m. $1,100 no-limit hold’em 12,000 starting stack, 40 min levels
Nov. 25 @ 9 p.m. $330 super satellite (rebuy + add on), 3,000 starting stack, 25 min. levels
Nov. 26 @ 4 p.m. $2,500 main event 20,000 starting stack, 60 min. levels
Nov. 27 @ 8 p.m. $5,300 VIP no-limit hold’em 20,000 starting stack, 60 min. levels
Nov. 28 @ 4 p.m. $550 no-limit hold’em 10,000 starting stack, 30 min levels

Entertainment will be provided by Ukrainian pop group Hot Chocolate. To get there, European players can fly direct to Lefkosa in Northern Cyprus, while Russian players can fly to Larnaca from Moscow, and Ukrainian players can go direct from Kiev, Lvov, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Simferopol.

Following this, the organisers look forward to the Red Sea Poker Cup 2010. This will run from Dec. 11 to 16 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt and features a €1,100 buy-in main event and a €3,300 buy-in VIP event.
