Travel chaos delays UKIPTThe PokerStars.com UK & Ireland Poker Tour Galway main event was due to get underway in the west of Ireland today kick-starting season II of the tour.

However, adverse weather conditions across much of Europe, including heavy snowfall, has caused many airports to close, ensuring significant travel disruption.

The €560 buy-in main event will now start tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 3 at noon and becomes a three-day event with just one starting day.

Kirsty Thompson from PokerStars said, “We are very sorry to have to postpone the event by one day, but it is the most sensible and fair option given that so many of our players would have had great difficulty getting here on time for tomorrow’s scheduled start.”

As a gesture of goodwill PokerStars will hold a €10,000 freeroll today at the Radisson Hotel, Galway for all players registered in the main event.
