Michael Addamo often disappears from the live tournament scene for stretches, but the four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner invariably pops back up and reminds the poker community that he is one of the top players in the game. In keeping with that trend, Addamo has recorded only four live cashes so far in 2024, but is now in pole position to take down one of the largest events of the year with 2025 less than two weeks away.

The 2024 World Series of Poker Paradise $25,000 no-limit hold’em super main event drew 1978 total entries, narrowly missing the $50 million guarantee. After the four live starting days and several online flights, and a couple more days of combined-field action, there are now just nine contenders remaining with a shot at the championship bracelet and the massive $6 million first-place prize.

Liv BoereeAddamo, who has nearly $27.4 million in career cashes to his name, bagged up the largest stack heading into the final table with 196,800,000. He is joined by several highly accomplished players, including Italy’s second leading tournament earner Mustapha Kanit (141,200,000), bracelet winner and European Poker Tour main event champion Liv Boeree (111,400,000), and three-time bracelet winner Justin Bonomo (63,400,000).

Bonomo is currently ranked second on poker’s all-time money list with $66.4 million in career cashes, which trails only Bryn Kenney ($74 million) in lifetime cashes.

The final nine are all now guaranteed at least $750,000 for making it this far, with the top eight all set to cash for seven figures.

Day 4 began with 36 players remaining. Plenty of notables were eliminated on the the way to the final table, including Super High Roller Bowl winners Christoph Vogelsang (32nd) and Rainer Kempe (31st), two-time bracelet winner Chris Klodnicki (26th), bracelet winner Roland Rokita (22nd), bracelet winner Nick Maimone (18th), Sorel Mizzi (16th), Card Player Player of the Year contender Ren Lin (11th), and 2003 WSOP main event champion Chris Moneymaker (10th).

Moneymaker bubbled the final table when his pocket nines were unable to come from behind against the pocket jacks of Boeree. Neither player connected with the eight-high runout and Moneymaker was eliminated in tenth place ($500,000). This was the fourth-largest score of the Poker Hall of Famer’s career. He now has more than $7.5 million in lifetime earnings.

The final table is set to resume at noon local time on Thursday, Dec. 19. Blinds will be at 1,500,000-3,000,000 with a big blind ante of 3,000,000 when play resumes.
