Commerce CasinoCommerce Casino has released the schedule for the 2011 L.A. Poker Classic tournament series and it will feature 54 tournaments. The series begins on Wednesday, January 19 and runs all the way through the final table of the World Poker Tour $10,000 championship event that will crown a champion on Thursday, March 3. This massive tournament series will run for more than six weeks in Los Angeles.

“You can’t get much better than this,” said Tournament Director Matt Savage. “We’ve carefully crafted the 2011 LAPC schedule to provide great payouts, plenty of variety, exciting challenges, and structures the players will love. The LAPC has become one of the two MUST-attend series in the U.S. for players, attracting an international field of poker all-stars, yet still being appealing and affordable to Southern Californians.”

The two main highlights in L.A. will be the WPT Celebrity Invitational that will begin on Friday, Feb. 18 and decide a final table of six by the following Saturday. Those six players will later return to contest the final table, which will be taped on Mar. 2. The $10,000 WPT championship event will begin on Feb. 25 and run for five days to determine a final table of six by Mar.1. The final table of the $10,000 event will then be taped on Mar. 3. Card Player will feature live coverage from the $10,000 WPT championship event starting at noon PDT on Feb. 25.

Other highlights include a $25,000 high roller event that begins on Feb. 27, the $5,000 heads-up no-limit hold’em championship that begins on Feb. 22, a $5,000 eight-game mixed championship, and a $1,600 bounty championship event that begins on Feb. 16.

A new event on the schedule this year is a $540 no-limit hold’em event for seniors over the age of 50. The champion will win a seat in the $10,000 WPT championship event. Other new offerings from the Commerce include knockout bounty events, seven-game mixed events, double stack events, and deuce-to-seven single draw.

In addition to the marquee events and new events on the schedule this year, Commerce will also once again be offering many guaranteed prize pools during the tournament series. The $335 no-limit hold’em kickoff event will feature four starting days from Jan. 19-22. If a player busts out during the first three starting days then they can re-enter and have another shot at winning a piece of the $1 million guaranteed prize pool.

Other guaranteed events include a $300,000 four-day-start no-limit hold’em tournament featuring a $125-buy-in (Feb. 2) with $100,000 going to the winner, a $100,000 no-limit hold’em with rebuys tournament featuring a $125 buy-in (Feb. 12), a $100,000 knockout bounty no-limit hold’em tournament with a $335 buy-in (Feb. 13), a $100,000 no-limit hold’em shootout tournament for $335 (Feb. 18), and a $100,000 no-limit hold’em tournament with a $335-buy-in (Feb. 21).

There are also three $50,000 guaranteed events: a $335 buy-in no-limit hold’em on Jan 23; a $545 buy-in seven-card stud (Jan. 24), a $335 Omaha eight-or-better (Jan. 25), and a $220 buy-in no-limit hold’em turbo (Feb. 11).
