Player of the Month: James “Flushy” Dempsey won event no. 9 at the World Series of Poker and followed it up with a second place finish to Sammy Farha in the world championship Omaha eight or better event.
Quote of the Month: Sammy Farha after his bracelet victory – “I am not competing for bracelets,” he said. “If I did, I would play every single event. I pick the events that I like. I am not trying to compete to get 10 bracelets or 11 bracelets. I don’t like tournaments too much.”

Hand of the Month: WSOP event no. 25 final table – “James Dempsey’s hand got him heads up with Sammy Farha for a shot at a second bracelet in one week. Yueqi Zhu was all in preflop against James Dempsey. Dempsey exposed the A K 5 4, while Zhu tabled the 4 5 10 10. The board ran out 8 4 2 3 J, giving Dempsey the wheel and ending Zhu’s tournament.
