Paddy PowerPlayer of the Month: James Bord won the WSOPE main event in September and just two weeks later took down a high roller event in Morocco . Quite the thing considering he also made the Full Tilt Poker Million final table (more of which later in this review).

Quote of the Month: Regular Card Player columnist and pot-limit Omaha expert Michael Piper on pot-limit Omaha tournaments . “With each hand of a tournament, good players accumulate chips, and bad players lose them. The vast majority of entrants might be break-even or long-term losers, but on the final-table of a large plonkament, it’s likely that all the remaining players are winners. Your strategy must change from exploiting bad players to preventing being exploited by the better ones.”

Story of the Month: David Vamplew wins the PokerStars EPT London, takes a couple of days off, then comes back to win the UK & Ireland Poker Tour grand final sit ‘n’ go.

Hand of the Month: Nicholas Newport at the PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Winter Festival. “Nicholas Newport is the PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Winter Festival main event champion for 2010 after topping a 347-strong field to take home the €125,000 first prize. The young pro beat fellow Irishman Charlie Harvey heads up when after clashing on a K-6-2 flop featuring two spades, they got it all in.

Harvey had K-2 for two pair and was up against Newport’s spade draw. A queen on the turn didn’t change anything but the 4Spade Suit on the river ended the tournament with a bang, and granted Newport the biggest win of his poker career.

Blog of the Month: Mad Marty does it again! This time he pulls a stroke and wins a house .
