PokerStars has released a statement on its site giving details on why its French home games have been suspended.

The statement said that the French regulatory authority of online games, ARJEL, has suspended the games for an unknown amount of time in order to ensure compliance with French law.

The decision was made to ensure the “safety and comfort of the players”, and in conclusion the online poker site apologised for the temporary inconvenience and said that it hopes to provide the service in the very near future.

Regular games are unaffected, and all home game clubs and their members, history, and statistics will be held in PokerStars’ existing database.
