PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham Gets 1,058 Players, Breaking UK's Live Tournament Record

Credit: Neil StoddartThe second stop of the second season of the PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour has broken the record for the largest number of players in a live tournament in the UK.

The £500 buy-in event in Nottingham saw 478 players on day 1A and 580 on day 1B. A total of 1,058 created a £529,000 prize pool, and someone will be walking away with the £109,000 top prize.

With 128 places being paid, Sam MacDonald is the chip leader going into day 2.

Channel 4 will be showing this leg of the UKIPT starting Tuesday nights in April.
