PokerStars has announced that, for the first time ever, Madrid, Spain will be the setting for the European Poker Tour Grand Final.

The ultimate stop of season 7 will kick off on May 7 at the Casino Gran Madrid, and run until May 12. The festival will feature the €10,000 + €600 main event, plus the €25,000 High Roller.

Speaking of the move from Monte Carlo to Madrid, EPT chief executive John Duthie said, “It is with the greatest pleasure that we are able to announce Casino Gran Madrid as the new venue for the EPT Grand Final. We wanted somewhere new, dynamic and inspiring, and knew that Madrid would tick all the boxes for the travelling poker player, regardless of age or desires.

“The same familiar team will be running the event and the schedule will, I am sure, provide something for everyone. All the usual qualifying satellites will be held on PokerStars.com and other regional versions of the site, giving all players of all nationalities the opportunity to join us in launching from our new home. Hasta la vista!”

The site has also announced the dates for EPT San Remo, the Tour’s penultimate stop. The Italian leg will run from Apr. 27 to May 3 at Casino San Remo. Last season, Liv Boeree took home €1,250,000 after beating 1,239 opponents on the Italian Riviera.
