Day 1B of the World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star $10,000 no-limit hold’em main event welcomed 273 runners in San Jose, California on Tuesday and by the end of the night 117 remained. There were 26 Shooting Stars among them and nine survived the day. The turnout today brought the total number of players in the field to 415. The eventual champion will walk away with $1,039,000 from the $3,697,500 total prize pool. Here is a look at the payout structure:

The top professional on the leader board for Day 1B is David Sands with 175,000 chips heading into day 2, which will take place on Wednesday, March 16. Joining him will be notable contenders Justin Young (165,800) and Shannon Shorr (147,300). The top spot on the leader board goes to Chris Tapani with 197,900 and that means he is the winner of the $10,000 prize as Day 1B chip leader. Chris is the son of the creator of this 15-year running tournament, Marko Trapani, who passed away in 2010.
Day 2 will take place on Wednesday and 18 Shooting Stars have survived. There is a total of 170 players who successfully waded through the first two flights of the tournament.
