UK computer hacker, Ashley Mitchell, who admitted five charges of hacking and taking private property in relation to the theft of online poker chips, was sentenced to two years in prison at Exeter Crown Court yesterday.

Mitchell will also serve an additional 30 weeks for breaching an earlier suspended sentence according to Thisisdevon.co.uk.

The 29-year-old was running an online gaming company at the time of the theft from Facebook poker operator Zynga which noticed poker chips missing to the value of $12 million.

Mitchell, who asked for 41 other crimes to be taken into consideration at his trial, made £53,000 from selling the chips via fake Facebook accounts before he was caught.

A dramatic last minute twist stalled sentencing last week but appears to have done nothing for the mitigation of Mitchell.
