PokerStars Macau has announced that the next Macau Poker Cup is scheduled to return to downtown Macau from May 28-June 5 inside Casino Grand Lisboa.
The upcoming tournament series will feature eight official events over nine days, with the Red Dragon main event once again highlighting the action. The HKD $11,000 buy-in tournament will run for four days with a guaranteed prize pool of HKD $3,000,000.
New events on the schedule include a HKD $5,000 KO Bounty event, HKD $6,000 NLH, HKD $30,000 High Rollers event and a HKD $4,000 Teams Event in which 2-player teams will play against other teams.
Those who play online at PokerStars can participate in Play With Team PokerStars freerolls for a chance to win entry into the team event with one of the Team PokerStars Asia Pros as their teammate. Those pros are Bryan Huang, Raymond Wu and Celina Lin. Aside from the HKD $4,000 Teams Event entry and the high profile teammate, the PokerStars package also includes USD $500 cash and three nights accommodation at Grand Lisboa Hotel.
A HKD $1,000 buy-in charity event will begin on May 29 to benefit local charities such as Caritas de Macau and the Macau Child Development Association.
The previous Macau Poker Cup brought in 1,579 players, with HKD $7,780,280 (USD $1,000,000) being awarded. The upcoming series is expected to build off of that success.
