A former poker dealer who made headlines around the world when he was convicted of extortion in a murder case may be extradited to the U.S. from an Irish prison according to RTE.ie.
Essam Eid was convicted of extortion in 2008 and sentenced to six years in prison after he demanded €100,000 from the target of a hit he had been hired to undertake.
Sharon Collins hired Eid to murder her partner PJ Howard but Eid double-crossed Collins and demanded Howard buy out the contract on his life.
The U.S has applied for the extradition of Eid on two charges of extortion and the Irish court will sit next Wednesday to consider the request.
