NAPT Mohegan Sun takes place this month. Last year's main event attracted 716 players and was won by Vanessa Selbst for $750,000. Selbst went on to finish fourth in the Card Player POY race.Although April is just beginning, a number of major live poker events are already under way across the globe. Tournaments from the World Series of Poker Circuit, World Poker Tour, Asian Poker Tour and Heartland Poker Tour started in late March and will conclude in the coming days.

Some of the largest events in progress will finish this Sunday. Among those are the World Poker Tour’s €2,500 main event in Bratislava, Slovakia, and the annual Asian Poker Tour Philippines $2,500 main event inside the Resorts World Manila complex. The Heartland Poker Tour has been holding numerous main event qualifiers in recent weeks inside Iowa’s Meskwaki Casino. The $1,500 main event kicks off tomorrow and will also play out its televised final table on Sunday.

The WSOP Circuit event at Harrah’s St. Louis started on Thursday and will run through April 12, when the $1,600 main event final table is set to take place.

The duration of the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza II will pretty much take up the entire month of April. Running today through April 27, the series is highlighted by the $1,590 main event.

The North American Poker Tour will take over Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun from April 5-15. The highest priced NAPT events are the $5,000 main event (April 9) and the $10,000 high roller shootout (April 12). At that same time, the WPT will be in Lawrenceburg, Indiana’s Hollywood Casino for the $10,000 Hollywood Poker Open main event, April 9-13.

The European Poker Tour returns in April, with a €5,300 main event inside Berlin, Germany’s largest casino, Spielbank Berlin, from April 5-10. The Borgata Spring Poker Open will be back in City from April 13-29. At the tail end of that schedule is a $2,500 buy-in championship event, running April 24-27.

Two more WSOP Circuit stops are also on the horizon. A visit to Caesars Palace Las Vegas will run April 14-30, with a $1,500 main event starting April 28. A day before that main event, the WSOP Circuit will begin a separate series of tournaments at Harrah’s Chester in Pennsylvania. The latter series will conclude with a $1,600 main event starting on May 8.

The last major tournament to get under way in April is the $10,000 WPT championship at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida from April 27 – May 2.
