On Sunday, Jan. 12, Pam Belote emerged victorious in the 2025 World Series of Poker Circuit Choctaw $250 buy-in no-limit hold’em ladies event, securing her record-setting eighth WSOPC gold ring. Belote was previously tied with La Sengphet atop the rings leaderboard for female players, but now has sole possession of the top spot after coming out on top of the 115-entry field to earn the hardware and $5,920.

Belote had almost managed the feat a few days earlier, but ultimately fell one spot shy in the $600 escalating bounty event at the same festival, which is ongoing at Choctaw Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma. The day before that runner-up finish, she placed fifth in a $400 buy-in ‘Monster Stack’ tournament as well. Her three cashes at this series add up to a total haul of $23,598.

The Oklahoma resident now has nearly $217,000 in career tournament earnings, with the majority ($127,821) coming from her success in WSOPC events.

Belote’s first ring was also earned in a ladies event at Choctaw. That victory came back in 2019. A couple of months later she took down a second ladies title, this time at the WSOPC Hard Rock Tulsa stop. She won that same event three years later for ring number three. Her fourth ring was also earned in a ladies event at Choctaw, in the fall of 2023.

The first open-field triumph of Belote’s WSOPC career came in a $600 buy-in no-limit hold’em event at the 2023 stop at Horseshoe Council Bluffs. She earned $13,206 for the win, which is her second-largest score yet. Her largest came when she finished 23rd in the 2023 WSOP super seniors event in Las Vegas for $14,292.

Belote closed out 2023 by securing her third ring of the year as the champion of a $300 no-limit hold’em event at the October stop at Choctaw.

The two most recent wins for Belote both came in ladies events, which means that six of her eight wins have come in female-only tournaments. Her lone victory of 2024 on the circuit came at the WSOP Caesars Southern Indian stop, which brings us back to her latest triumph at Choctaw.

The top 19 finishers earned a share of the $23,000 prize pool, with four-figure paydays for the final five. The heads-up match for the ring came down to Belote and Bonnie Weitzel, who earned her one WSOPC title at the ladies event held at the Horseshoe Tunica stop last spring.

Weitzel was ultimately eliminated in second place, earning $3,808 for her efforts.

Here is a look at the payouts awarded at the final table:
