European Poker Tour -- Berlin Day 2Fabrice Soulier Soars To The Top As Money Bubble Bursts |
|
Day 2 of the EPT Berlin main event has ended with the bubble bursting, leaving only 119 of the 353 players who started the day. Fabrice Soulier, of France, has catapulted himself into the chip lead with a stack of 1,079,400, which makes him the only player with more than a million in chips.
Andrey Lobzhanidze was the bubble boy, and now all remaining players are guaranteed at least €7,500. The last man standing after Sunday’s final table will earn the top prize of €825,000. Still alive in that race are notable players such as Team PokerStars Pros Henrique Pinho (518,100), George Danzer (310,500), Sebastian Ruthenberg (278,800) and 2008 WSOP main event champion Peter Eastgate (301,500). The average chip stack is now 194,874.
As highlighted in our day 1B recap, Roberto Romanello has been on a hot streak in recent months and although his chip stack dropped below average on day 2, he managed to stay alive and will take a stack of 149,500 into day 3.
