The two-part PokerStars SuperStar Showdown between Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Scott “urnotindangr” Palmer came to a close on Sunday, with Blom winning $66,607.
After Palmer had won by a measly $5,425 last Sunday in the first 2,500 hands, Blom managed to turn things around and finish the 5,000-hand quota with a $61,000 profit.
After the battle Palmer wrote on his Twitter account: […] lost 65k to isildur today in showdown and i felt like i played better today then when i won 5k variance is so stupid
After losing to Isaac Haxton in the first installment of the promotion, Blom has been on fire, winning five straight $50-$100 cash game contests. Overall, Blom is up about $350,000 in Showdowns since they began in December.
