Barstool Sports founder and CEO Dave Portnoy took aim at a poker player and crypto trader during a recent livestream.
As the stock market opens, Portnoy runs a livestream dubbed “Davey Day Trader Global.” During his stream last week, he made fun of recent Wynn Millions champ Jeremy Dan. Portnoy called him a “piece of shit” and ripped on Dan’s appearance.
Earlier this month, Dan had an amazing run at the Wynn Millions tournament series in Las Vegas.
On March 11, he won the $10,500 no-limit hold’em eight-max event for $191,800. Just two days later, he finished runner-up in the $25,800 high roller for $241,875.
Those two scores bumped the New York Native’s career tournament earnings to $662,370.
Outside of poker, Dan regularly speculates on cryptocurrencies and posts on Twitter about different coins under the pseudonym “jingtao.”

It’s the crypto connection that brought Dan and Portnoy together.
Over the last few months, as memecoins became more volatile (and popular), Portnoy took an interest in trading them. He started tweeting about them regularly and talking about them on his stream.
The Barstool founder has always been open about how he viewed memecoin trading. In his eyes, it’s another form of gambling and compared it to the “Cliff Hangers” game on the price is right.
The contestant guesses a price of a prize and for every dollar they are off, a cardboard mountain climber moves higher up the mountain. After each guess, the contestant can leave with the prize or keep going to win all three. If the mountain climber falls off the ledge, they leave with nothing.
Portnoy owns one coin, called “jailstool,” where he openly told people he wouldn’t sell any of the coins until it reached a certain market capitalization. But with other coins, he said he would sell at any time.
According to Portnoy, Dan approached the social media mogul while he was in the Wynn’s sportsbook to complain about losses he sustained from a coin Portnoy talked about. Dan claimed $200,000 in losses on a memecoin called “greed.”
“It looked like he came from a cave and hadn’t showered or done anything in months,” said Portnoy on his stream about Dan’s appearance.
Then, Portnoy reveals that the complainer in question is Dan and shows his winner photo from the Wynn tournament.
