Two international PokerStars tour events have begun this week in Australia and South America. Day 1A at the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour $2,200 AUD no-limit hold’em main event attracted 152 players on Wednesday. PokerStars qualifier Jay Kinkade was the overnight chip leader with 148,150. About half of the field fell during the first day of play down under. Australian stars Joe and Tony Hachem are set to play on day 1B on Thursday.
The ANZPT Sydney main event will crown a champion on Sunday, April 17, and you can check back early next week for a recap of the final table on Card Player. Last year Angelo Hanataj topped a field of 446 players to take home the top prize worth $219,432 AUD.
Players began with 20,000 in tournament chips and the blinds began at 50-100 for the first hour-long level. Here is look at the full schedule of play:

Day 1 at the Latin American Poker Tour $2,500 no-limit hold’em main event in Lima, Peru begins on Thursday and the tournament will also crown a champion on Sunday, April 17. The inaugural LAPT Lima event attracted a field of 384 players last season and the eventual champion was Team PokerStars pro Jose “Nacho” Barbero, who took home $250,000 in prize money and his second consecutive LAPT title after winning the Punta del Esta main event.
Blinds will begin at 50-100 and Day 1 is scheduled for eight levels of play. A field close to 350 players is expected in Peru. Here is a look at the full schedule for the LAPT Lima main event:
