The Nevada Gaming Control Board has reported that the state’s casinos have ended a four-month tumble, collecting $958.7 million in gambling win (money taken from customers) during the month of March. The total was also a 5.1 percent increase compared to March 2010, according to an article by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Strip casinos, which also ended four months of losses, were the main force behind the spike in revenues, boasting a 12.9 percent gain and collecting $527.3 million of the total win.
According to the Las Vegas Sun, since November, the win at Strip casinos had declined compared to the same month of the previous year. But thanks to increases of 55.1 percent in baccarat win, a 23.9 percent accretion on blackjack, and a 62.4 percent increase in roulette revenue, Strip casinos have led the way for a statewide upswing. It is unclear if poker had any effect on the increases for the Silver State’s casinos.
