(Update 1 a.m. PST) — The $100,000 Super High Roller event at the Bellagio started shortly after noon on Wednesday in the Fontana Lounge, and when registration was closed in the evening a total of 29 players had ponied up the massive buy-in.
The top five chip counts at the end of the day are Justin Bonomo (1,837,000), Vivek Rajkumar (1,628,000), Erick Lindgren (1,607,000), John Morgan (1,009,000), and Randy Dorfman (968,000).
Rounding out the remaining 12 spots are Sam Trickett (626,000), Gregory Brooks (611,000), Rick Salomon (582,000), Dan Shak (558,000), Daniel Negreanu (471,000), Eugene Katchalov (321,000), Gabe Kaplan (287,000), Ashton Griffin (273,000), Yevgeniy Timoshenko (258,000), Erik Seidel (237,000), Cary Katz (198,000), and Tyler Smith (142,000)
Seidel, who has been on a tear this year in big buy-in events, is short but is still a dangerous force in the tournament, as are Griffin, who earlier in the day busted out of the $25K WPT Championship event, and Trickett, who has won about $3 million in high roller events so far in 2011.
