New to Twitter - Roland De WolfeThis week was one of Twitter’s calmer weeks in the poker world; not because players weren’t tweet-happy but because much of the talk was prompted by one thing ⎯ the World Series of Poker.

Most were concerned about their fantasy leagues, drafts, side bets, and basically all the on-the-side action that adds to the world’s greatest poker festival. For instance Eugene Katchalov recently tweeted, “Well we just finished our fantasy pool and the multiple side bets..really happy with the way ours turned out..lots of sweating this summer!!”

As players prepare for hours of intense concentration and rollercoaster highs and lows, excitement is also apparent with last-minute accommodation arrangements and after-play party plans.

One player in the international poker spotlight of late was Scott Seiver. On May 21 Seiver said, “Won the wpt for 1.6 million! Thank you so much everyone for the support. I love you” What followed this was an onslaught of congratulations for the fun-loving poker pro.

Fellow champ Erik Seidel recently helped tweak the spotlight to shine it on triple crown Brit Roland de Wolfe. He tweeted, “Get in on the ground floor of twitters next big thing rolandpoker just started tweeting. Forgive him 4 his tasteless start. #paidtweet” De Wolfe had indeed just joined Twitter and kicked things off with, “lets get some followers...its currently barer round here than the top oferik_seidel ’s head.” He delved further into the Twitter world with, “all @Erik_Seidel followers are coming to follow me..its like an invasion of a friendly bald army…hmmm or maybe they after his rungood..”

Check back here next week to see what’s going down on the poker Twitter wires across the globe.
