PKR.com certainly knows how to throw a party. Twenty-four online qualifiers, six team pros and dozens of PKR regulars turned up at the Wet Republic pre-WSOP event pool party on July 4 at MGM Grand.
The DJ David Guetta-run, Ibiza-inspired dayclub disco was preceded by shindigs at the Caramel Bar in Bellagio and Revolution Lounge in at Mirage as the qualifiers and friends of the site made the most of their free time ahead of what for many would be the biggest poker game of their lives.
The players were being treated to a $4,200 WSOP Experience package which included entry into the $1,000 by in event 54 as well as six nights luxury accommodation at the new Cosmopolitan Hotel in Sin City.
Online qualifier at PKR.com, Steven ‘enoobs’ Boone, turned his $25 satellite buy in into a $2,059 cash in the event and said afterwards, “It has been without a doubt one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
