Playtech Poker Revenue Down 32 Percent

iPoker Network Owner Sees Huge Slump In Poker Revenue

Playtech, the Israeli online poker software developer and network operator, today reports poker revenues down 32 percent to $5 million in the three months to June 2011.

This compares to €7.3 million in the same period last year. It’s also 12 percent lower than the first quarter of 2011 when revenue was €5.7 million.

Over in the six months of 2011 so far poker revenue is down 33 percent to €10.7 million compared to €15.8 million in the same period last year.

Mor Weizer, chief executive officer of the company confirmed in the trading statement that Coral Poker was making the move to iPoker, “Today we have also announced the signing of a significant contract with Gala Coral to provide its online technology platform across all channels. We were first in the market to launch casino and cash poker tables in Italy this week, including SNAI and SISAL as well as other existing and new licensees, and welcomed both William Hill Online and Titan [poker] into the Italian network.”

Total revenue at the company, which include significant casino and lesser bingo revenue, was up 8 percent in the second quarter of 2011 to €39.6 million from €36.8 million a year earlier.
