Millions to be Won at the 2011 Legends of Poker Tournament Series and World Poker Tour Main Event

The Bicycle Casino’s prestigious Legends of Poker tournament series, a favorite among professional poker players and poker aficionados alike, commences on July 28th, 2011. Thousands of poker players are expected to step-up their game and take their shot, vying for a combined estimated prize pool of $4 million in cash and prizes during the month long series.

This year’s Legends of Poker series is chock full of guaranteed events, beginning with Event No. 1: the $1,000,000 Guaranteed No Limit Hold’em re-entry event. With the mind-blowingly low buy-in of $125, ten starting days and two flights per day, players who find themselves eliminated early have the opportunity to re-enter in any or all of the subsequent heats to stay in the game for a chance to win the guaranteed first place prize of $300,000.

The series culminates with the eagerly anticipated Legends of Poker World Poker Tour Main Event starting on Thursday, August 25th. Last year’s champion, Andy Frankenberger, beat out Kyle Wilson for the WPT title and life-long bragging rights. With one of the most affordable buy-ins on the tour, The Bicycle Casino expects to fill its luxurious and spacious Event Center with poker’s most elite players as well as enthusiastic players from all walks of life and will pamper them with a beautiful first-class buffet during the dinner breaks of Days 1A, 1B and 2. “We wanted to give the players an elegant playing experience and return the Legends of Poker to its original glory,” says Tournament Director, Mo Fathipour.

This year’s Legends of Poker WPT Main Event prize pool is estimated at $3 million, thanks to the lowered entry fee of $3,500 and two re-entry days. The Bicycle Casino anticipates an exceptional turnout with players taking full advantage of the second chance opportunity. Moreover, updates of the Main Event will be webcast live on The Bicycle Casino’s world famous LiveattheBike.com.

Commentators Bart Hanson, Dave Tuchman, Nichoel Jurgens and Adam Strohl will be in the ‘Live at the Bike’ booth to discuss the action and interact with the audience. But that’s not all, poker’s go-to-guy Kevin Mathers, together with our own Marie-Lizette Acoba, will be in the field speaking with some of poker’s favorite personalities, keeping the fans up to date on The Bicycle Casino’s Twitter stream, Facebook fan page and Blog. As the second stop on Season X of the World Poker Tour, the televised final table of the Legends of Poker Main Event will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net in early 2012.

New and exciting for 2011 is the Legends of Poker Invitational event, the “Legends of Legends.” The Legends of Legends will be held on Wednesday, August 24th, with a cocktail party and full buffet beginning at noon. Invitations are extended to Bicycle Casino Legends from years prior. The Legends of Legends Invitational will be live-streamed on LiveattheBike.com with commentators and hole-cams, and guarantees ten seats into the 2011 Legends of Poker WPT Main Event. In addition, for the affordable buy-in of $500, the Legends of Legends event gives poker enthusiasts an opportunity to win a seat into the Main Event while playing with their favorite poker legends.

For those who want to play the big events but do not have the bankroll to do so, the Legends of Poker schedule is loaded with Super and Mega Satellites; offered daily throughout the series, players have multiple chances to win seats into the higher buy-in events for minimal investments.
