The PokerStars.com UK & Ireland Poker Tour starts in Edinburgh this evening as interested players launch their last ditch attempt to qualify for the event in the £75 buy in Super Satellite while others will take to the felt for two £50 Turbo events and a £100 Six Max tournament.

The £500 + £60 buy in main event starts tomorrow at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange with up to 500 players expected. Day 1B takes place on Friday.

Players will start with 15,000 in chips and a one hour clock and will play down to a final table on Sunday. There’s also a £1,500 + £120 High Roller event starting on Saturday with 20,000 starting stacks and a one hour clock.

This is the seventh stop of season II of UKIPT and the main event has a guaranteed prize pool of £200,000.

Last year the main event was won by Irishman Nick Abou Risk who took down £50,000 for his victory over a 401 player field.
