Team PokerStars pro Fintan Hand has won his first live tournament title. The Irish poker player and online streamer came out on top of a 220-entry field in the 2023 UK and Ireland Poker Tour Edinburgh £1,100 no-limit hold’em main event. Hand took home £44,200 ($53,924 USD) for the win, the largest recorded score yet for the man many know as ‘EasyWithAces.’
“It was a lot of fun," Hand told PokerStars reporters after coming out on top. “I felt it just kind of went my way, I picked up some big hands, had some nice hands to re-shove with, in spots where people were quite light. So, I think I just went well. It’s always nice winning any poker tournament. And that’s my biggest score ever. I’ve not played a lot of live poker, so to win a tournament and beat my best score is fantastic.”
Before this victory at this event at Genting Casino Fountain Park in Scotland, Hand’s top live score had been a $20,612 payday for a seventh-place showing in a €1,275 buy-in side event at the 2017 Irish Poker Open Festival. He now has $107,253 in career earnings across ten recorded live cashes.
In addition to the title and the money, Hand also earned 384 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win. This was his first qualified POY score of 2023.
Hand wasn’t the only Team PokerStars Pro at the final table. Recent UKIPT Brighton main event winner Ben Spragg finished sixth for $11,102.
Spragg and Hand took to social media to razz fellow online tournament streamer Parker ‘tonkaaaa’ Talbot, who has not yet scored a live tournament win despite accruing more than $1.3 million in recorded earnings.
