Parx Casino To Host 2012 WPT Event

In a press release late last week, Philadelphia-area Parx Casino announced that it will annually, beginning in 2012, host one televised World Poker Tour main event and three WPT Regional events, as part of a three-year deal.

“We have put an emphasis on finding the right partners for expansion. Parx was an immediate target for WPT and have been wonderful business partners in getting this deal done,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “The ability to crown a WPT champion in a town that has recently seen the Flyers in the Stanley Cup, the Eagles in the Super Bowl and the Phillies win the World Series will be tremendous for both Parx and WPT.”

More details of the agreement with Parx Casino will be revealed at the WPT Season X press conference, taking place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at The Bicycle Casino outside Los Angeles. Dates and structures of the televised event will be released later this year when the WPT unveils its final Season X schedule.
