The €7,500 buy-in World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris main event kicks off today at the Aviation Club de France and will run until Sept. 10 when this year’s champion will be crowned.
Players sit down at 2 p.m. local time (10 a.m. EST) today for day 1A and will begin with a 30,000 chip stack.
Among those taking part in this prestigious event are Freddy Deeb, Kara Scott, Mike Sexton, and Jason Mercier who is in hot pursuit of poker’s triple crown.
Last year Theo Jorgensen took the WPT Grand Prix de Paris title, trophy, and the top prize of $782,818 by beating 246 players in what was then a €10,000 buy-in event.
