The World Poker Tour recently wrapped up its 22nd season with the conclusion of the WPT World Championship. The tour made stops in 14 countries last year, with more than $80 million in prize money paid out along the way.
Since that festival wrapped up at Wynn Las Vegas in late December, the WPT has made several big announcements. The tour first crowned Yunkyu Song as the Season 22 Player of the Year award winner, then revealed the schedule for the first half of Season 23.
The upcoming WPT stops span four continents: Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. This first release included four WPT main tour stops and three WPT Prime events.
“With the arrival of the new year, we look ahead to the 23rd season of the World Poker Tour,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “Poker players, globally, can mark their calendars for some amazing WPT festivals to come in the first half of 2025.”
Season 23 kicks off at the NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with both the $3,500 buy-in WPT Cambodia Championship main event (Feb. 19-24) and the $1,100 WPT Prime Cambodia Championship (Feb. 14-18).
Up next are a trio of returning main tour stops, including the WPT Rolling Thunder Championship $3,500 buy-in main event (Mar. 16-19), the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $3,500 main event (Apr. 4-8), and the WPT Choctaw $3,800 buy-in main event (May 2-5).
WPT Prime Cyprus is slated to run Mar. 6-17 at Chamada Prestige Hotel & Casino, with the same venue expected to host a main tour event in the back half of the year. Rounding out this initial schedule release is the WPT Prime Gold Coast $2,000 AUD main event at The Star Gold Coast from Mar. 21-26.
