Meet The November Nine -- Poker Pro Sam Holden

22 Year-Old Brit Enters With Shortest Stack

Print-icon

Sam HoldenJust as every final table needs it’s chip leader, someone must invariably come in as the shortest stack. When the 2011 World Series of Poker main event resumes in November, that short stack will be played by 22 year-old British poker professional Sam Holden. Holden will take his position in the 6th seat with 12.375 million in chips, roughly 28 million behind chip leader Martin Staszko.

Last years shortest stack, Jason Senti, was able to outlast Soi Nguyen and Matt Jarvis to finish seventh, increasing his payout by more than $500,000. Will Holden be able to improve on this feat and rebuild his short-stack into the WSOP main event title and $8,711,956 in prize money? Only time will tell.

Card Player TV caught up with Holden shortly after he made the final table to learn more.
