The PokerStars European Poker Tour London kicks off at the Hilton London Metropole on Edgware Road in London tomorrow, Sept. 29, and will run until Oct. 6.

London will be Season 8’s third destination but its first full-on poker festival thus far. Sept. 30 sees the first of two starting days for the highlight of the festival, the £5,250 buy-in main event. Players will sit down to 30,000 in chips and levels will be 60 minutes for day 1, and 75 minutes thereafter.

Oct. 6 will see reigning champion David Vamplew hand over his crown, that’s unless he can pull off one of poker’s finest double title takedowns. Last season, Vamplew beat John Juanda heads up to top a record field of 848 and take the first-place prize of £900,000 back home to Scotland.

If that wasn’t enough, one day after his victory, Vamplew completed a remarkable double by taking down the UK & Ireland Poker Tour Champion of Champions event. The UKIPT Grand Final will be held once again in London during this season’s festival.

Aside from the main event there is a whole host of side events including the £2,150 8-Game European Championship, a £5,250 Heads-Up event, the £550 Women’s event, and the £20,500 High Roller event, which was won last season by Jose Barbero when he bested a field of 77 players, receiving £556,000 for the top spot.
