Details have today been announced for the 2012 installment of Europe’s longest running no-limit hold’em poker tournament, the PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Open.
One of the poker world’s most prestigious and popular tournaments will take place from Apr. 6-9, 2012 in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin and will once again see a buy-in of €3,200 + €300.
The €100,000 Sole Survivor will return once again giving all PaddyPowerPoker.com qualifiers a chance to win a €100,000 package, on top of whatever prize money may be won, for being the last qualifier standing.
The site is kicking things off early with its first Irish Open 2012 online satellite taking place on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 at 8 p.m.. To celebrate the festival’s launch, the €200 + €15 no-limit hold’em freezeout satellite will be guaranteeing two €4,600 packages for the event.
The Irish Open always features an array of side events and this year will be no different. The full schedule of events is yet to be announced.
Paddy Power, Communications Manager for the site, said, “It is always exciting to launch the Irish Open each year, and we hope to make the next one even bigger and better than that of the past. We’re launching the online satellites nice and early this year so that people have more time to win their seat at a bargain on paddypowerpoker.com.
“Next year there is a big possibility that we will have the 2011 World Series of Poker Champion in attendance – that is, if things go to plan for young Irish player Eoghan O’Dea next month at the final table of the WSOP 2011. We are all routing for you Eoghan!!”
In the meantime, there are only a few remaining online qualifiers for the upcoming Irish Winter Festival, which kicks off on Oct. 28 and runs for four days at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, Ireland.
