It was a poker party at the Rio last night, as the 2006 Official World Series of Poker Kick-off Party Sponsored
The party, which was also sponsored by PartyPoker.net, took over the top three floors of the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas at the same time the last few hours of day 1 of the main event were taking place downstairs.
Poker players and celebrities enjoyed the wide array of free drinks and food as well as live music and a DJ. Guests were even able to party on the roof of the Rio, and did despite heavy winds.
Inside, Activision showed off its new XBox 360 game, World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions, and guests got to ogle both the topless women painted to look like playing cards and the 100 or so PartyPoker.net Monster Girls, who all wore black wigs and were hired to party with all the guests.
Pop artist Rhianna and personality Carmen Electra partied in the VIP area filled with Harrah's executives while the rest of the guests packed the three floors wall to wall.
The hosts wanted to make sure their guests looked good for the main event and provided a barbershop to give the male players facials, shaves, manicures and pedicures.
A shoeshine booth was also available.
Poker pros in attendance include Humberto Brenes, Joe Sebok, Robert Williams III, Antonio Esfandiari, and Marcel Luske. Shannon Elizabeth was also there.
