Adrien Allain has been crowned the champion of the World Poker Tour Amneville after topping a field of 379 for a nice payday of €310,633.
At the start of the day, most eyes were on chip leader Scott Baumstein, the only American on the final table and the player who had been leading the pack since end of day 2. Baumstein, however, could not get the better of his opponents on the ultimate day and eventually fell three places short from the top.
Allain who was second in chips coming into the day persisted and made it to the heads up with fellow Frenchman Jordane Ouin. It was an intense battle with chips flying back and forth but finally Allain drastically reduced Ouin’s stack to shoving size and soon his final 1.5 million was in the middle. Ouin held K 9 while Allain called and revealed pocket tens. The board fell Q 8 4 4 9 and Ouin was left with the runner-up prize of €170,365.
