London’s only dedicated poker venue, the Fox Poker Club, has been sold to global gaming giant Genting Casinos for an undisclosed amount.
UPDATE: Genting Casinos UK Limited (Gencas) acquired the entire issued share capital of Fox Poker Club Limited for £7.75 million pounds (RM38.35 million) according to Genting Malaysia accounts.
The fully licensed club opened in September 2010 after £1 million in funding was secured. It has 80 employees and over 20,000 members.
Managing director of the club, Chris North, said, “It was always a dream of mine to open a poker club in London and although it’s been a real challenge, with delayed openings and not getting our 24 hour licence until July this year, I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved.
“The club is in a great position to continue growing and we are very pleased that it is passing to such good hands. We wish the club and Genting all the success in the future.”
