Across the street from the Rio, where the World Series of Poker's main event has just finished its sixth day, the Bellagio prepares for its own $10,000 buy-in event.
The Bellagio Cup II has been going in since July 24, with twice-daily $1,080 no-limit hold'em tournaments. Its four-day championship event begins Monday, Aug. 7. Super-satellites to this event take place Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and cost $1,080.With so many poker players in town for the WSOP, the $1,000 tourneys have been attracting between 200 and 400 players.
The championship events start at noon Monday and will have 90-minute rounds. The winner of the events receives a $25,000 entry into the World Poker Tour championship, which takes place at the Bellagio.
