On Thursday, MGM Resorts International filed a lawsuit in a Las Vegas federal court against six defendants who they claim infringed on their domain by “cybersquatting” on urls containing the names of MGM casino properties. The sites in question are bellagioonlinepoker.com, mandalaybayonlinepoker.com, ariapoker.com, mgmpoker.com, excaliburpoker.com, circuscircuspoker.com and luxorpoker.com.

The six named defendants in the lawsuit are Shahram Kolahzadeh, Roberto Ciamillo, Adam Majewski, Evan Krentzman and the companies of PokerSons and RevNet. The websites were registered between 2002 and 2005.

Should online poker become licensed and regulated in the United States, MGM is going to want those names back. According to the lawsuit, the defendants are unfairly capitalizing on the billions of dollars in advertising and branding efforts made by MGM over the years.
