The Game Show Network's High Stakes Poker Canceled, Could Return in Future

Popular Cash Game Show Won't Return in 2012 for 8th Season

Daring bluffs on the show helped make Tom Dwan a star in poker.GSN’s popular High Stakes Poker is not currently in production for an eighth season, but could return in the future, according to a source at the network.

The source told Card Player that if things change in the poker industry with advertising dollars the show could make a comeback.

GSN has not made a long-term decision regarding the program, after keeping the seventh season on air, but scaled back, in the wake of poker’s Black Friday.

PokerStars, named in the Justice Department’s indictment, sponsored the seventh season of the show. The online site pulled out of the U.S. market immediately after April 15, 2011.

Full Tilt Poker pros didn’t participate in the December 2010 filming for season seven — which also saw Norm MacDonald take over the hosting duties from Gabe Kaplan.
