Two online poker operators, Bet24 and Scandic Bookmakers, have joined the Ongame network in Denmark as the country prepares to regulated online poker in January.
Ongame will operate a dedicated Danish network and David Pittel, managing director, said, “Enabling our partners to enter every major regulated market on day one is our strategy. Ongame was among the first in Italy, first in France and we will soon be the first in Denmark and Spain as well.
Lars Kollind, poker manager at Bet24, added, “We need specialists in poker to provide a complete poker experience, and that makes Ongame a perfect fit. Only Ongame can offer a presence in all markets as well as provide support for iPhone and Android devices.
Bet24 recently signed Danish poker pro Jesper Hougaard.
The online poker market in Denmark is estimated to grow over 60 percent in 2012 to €87 million.
Earlier this week Ongame’s owner, bwin.party digital entertainment plc said it was at an advanced stage of selling the company.
